The first of SIMFestival’s seven 2022 concerts sets the tone perfectly for the next four days of glorious chamber music.
The second of SIMFestival’s seven 2022 concerts is one not to be missed. Often considered Schoenberg’ s most celebrated work, ‘Verklarte Nacht’ was composed in 1899 when he was just 25, the same age as many of the performers in this concert!
Schubert’s unfinished trio composition is rounded out in this evening concert by Arensky’s Second String Quartet, probably his best-known work and a musical tribute to Tchaikovsky, and Beethoven’s Violin Sonata No.9 in A Major.
Back by popular demand, SIMFestival’s ‘Late Night Schubert’ concert has sold out each year, so be sure to book early to avoid disappointment. This year, our festival musicians bring you Schubert’s fifteenth and final quartet.
The fifth concert of SIMFestival 2022 promises to be a joyous occasion. With its mixture of grandeur and intimacy and virtuosity the Eb Major Septet became Beethoven’s most popular work during his lifetime.
SIMFestival’s Sunday morning concert is once again featuring a young and upcoming ensemble. This year we are delighted to be presenting Trio Kurtág, a new string trio founded in 2021 by Eliza Millett, Yume Fujise and Juliette Roos.

This year we are very excited to be partnering with the brilliant Stamford Strings – a specialist shop making, restoring and selling instruments from the violin family.
The first of our three talks gives the audience will have a unique opportunity to learn about the instruments that the festival musicians play and listen to the differences and similarities between them.
The second of our three talks gives audience the opportunity to learn about the Art of Violin Making from local violin makers based at Stamford Strings.
The third and final talk in our new luthier lead series. A brief history of the violin takes you from its birth in Italy to the resurgence of violin making as a master craft in the 20th century.
