A popular fixture of our festival each May is our concert of solos and duos. This year we celebrate the centenary of György Ligeti in this concert through one of his most performed works, his solo cello sonata. Alongside this sits Poulenc's effervescent violin sonata. Although both works were being composed in the 1940's they differ enormously, perhaps magnifying the different experiences of war time Europe.

Friends of the festival will have reserved front row seating. To join the Friends SIMFestival visit
