Despite an average age of just 26, between them our musicians for this very special evening recital have performed in all of the UK’s, and many of Europe’s, leading concert halls.
I am especially excited to be able to perform Schoenberg’s unforgettable Verklärte Nacht – ‘transfigured night’ – for this concert, in the beautiful and fitting setting of St Martin's Church. It has long been one of my absolute favourite pieces of music, and was intended as the very core of our 2020 festival, with everything else programmed around it.
Sadly, SIMFestival 2020 was not to be (for obvious reasons!) – but I am thrilled to have the chance to bring this extraordinary piece of music to Stamford this spring.
